ABOUT
Welcome to The Creative Reviewer!
I’m Nicole — a lifelong reader, writer, and future publishing professional. My shelves (and my tote bags, my desk, my floor) are stacked with YA novels, fantasy epics, swoony romances, and the occasional play or poetry collection that sneaks in. I don’t read politely: I dog-ear pages, underline sentences, and argue with characters in the margins. Books aren’t museum pieces to me — they’re living, breathing things meant to be carried, marked, and debated.
Why publishing? Because it’s everything I love: the authors, the editors, the designers, the stories, the covers you can’t resist picking up. Books are whole ecosystems, and I want to be part of the one that makes them possible.
Here on The Creative Reviewer, you’ll find:
-
Honest YA book reviews (where I balance escape with critique).
-
Fantasy and romance reviews that aren’t afraid to gush or grumble.
-
Publishing field insights, written from the perspective of someone working her way into the industry.
Think of this space as a mix of book club and publishing commentary — a place where sarcasm and sincerity sit side by side, and where stories are always taken seriously (even when I’m teasing them).
If you’re a reader, welcome. If you’re in publishing, let’s connect. And if you’re both — well, you’ve found your people.
